I find this unbelievably disappointing. Ok so everything you have said here is absolutely valid, but why write it in a freaking blog? Sorry, that's harsh - I just find it a bit shocking.

Marci sounds amazing by the way. It's the hardest thing to break away from someone you love. In fact, breaking away from someone absolutely lovely is the hardest thing on earth.

I hope you both find happiness apart and then maybe even together again in the future. xxx

Bummer.

Well at least you had a girlfriend. And a good one it sounds like.

Consider yourself lucky. Unlike some of us Joe Six Packs. Now if you'll excuse me I hear some internet porn calling my loser self.

Every time I see previews for I Am Legend, it makes me think of 28 Days Later with Will Smith. That is enough discouragement.

I'm sorry you didn't like Sideways. It's still one of my favorite movies. I'm not old enough for the midlife crisis, but I do love wine. But for me, I really do like the acting. It's my favorite Paul Giamatti role (although I haven't seen too many others beyond smaller parts).

Look, I made the deadline, and I can tell you these facts:

1) I couldn't write every day either. Because you can't. And you shouldn't. Because you need to have a life. Otherwise, you won't have anything to write about.

2) On the days that I did write, I was so caffeinated, I had four phantom heartattacks. Because a local Starbucks offered free refills on Tuesdays and Thursdays. And I partook. Numerously.

3) On the days and nights that I did write, I ended up writing somewhere in the neighborhood of 7500 words, or 30 pages handwritten. I had to totally abandon the a little at a time mentality and write until I had handcramps and exhaustion.

4) I handwrote everything, so I had to type it then. This led to endless hours and more handcramps. I felt like it was those lonely college days again, and no one was home and well...nevermind.

5) I had to take a day off of work. The very last day of the contest, I spent 8 straight hours typing furiously to get it completed in time. I literally posted it with 8 minutes to spare.

6) I never would have done this contest if not for your prompting and/or taunting. So a small part of my victory (and little blog tag) belongs to you.

7) I have not finished my novel. I didn't even post up what's finished for now yet. So we still can do that. And then, we can get them published. It's on my list of life goals. Even narcissistic self-publishing counts. Word.

8) This is probably going to end up being a screenplay anyway, it just feels more visual of a story. So I might cannibalize it for the Script Frenzy!

9) You rule.

That is all. Seachrest, out.

Hey Matt! Your mom was kind enough to send me this about your amazing ride! Congrats! That's so awesome you did 100 miles! I think you should definitely look to do another one in the spring-- there's no way you could possibly have as bad of luck the second time around :)
