Buddy Ride - 8/29

August 29th, 2007 by matt

So this is my first blog entry for my cycling training program. Awesome! I finally got Wordpress installed and hosted and picked a theme (although it will change). So now I can write blogs like I promised.

So today was my first ride in six weeks due to a serious hamstring strain. It’s feeling better, though not 100%, but good enough to ride tonight. I’m going to ramp back up quickly to the mileage level I should be at in the training.

We did not have an official buddy ride tonight so I rode on the trail next to Fairfax County Parkway. I wound up doing 10.34 miles before it got too dark for my comfort. Not a bad ride for the first time out in six weeks.

Next up is a tune-up ride on Friday before the long ride on Saturday. Originally I was going to sign up to o the Bay County Metric, but I’m not in good enough condition to complete that ride. Instead, I’m going to ride on the W&OD trail until my legs fall off. Well, it’ll certainly feel that way.
