They Say We Need A Resolution

December 27th, 2006 by matt

So I’ve made some New Year’s Resolutions (yeah yeah, I know New Year’s is still a few days away, but I thought I’d type these up while I was thinking about them):

1) Don’t buy any CDs, DVDs, or video games in 2007.
For those who know me, this is a real shock. Even Marci said “Wow” when I told her. I don’t know if I’ll be able to do it, but that’s what goals are for. My Amazon.com wishlist will probably double in size by the end of the year, though. However, I do have one exception: I will buy the new Smashing Pumpkins album when it comes out. There’s no way I can’t buy it.

2) Visit the west coast.
I’ve never been further west than Chicago. I kinda have a little plan in the back of my mind to move to somewhere in California that is warm and sunny. Before attempting such a move, it would probably be a good idea to check the place out, huh? So I’m thinking I should visit San Jose or San Diego or one of the southern areas of California sometime this year. Then maybe I’ll have the gumption to move there.

3) Get back in shape.
This is pretty standard for most people. I, however, had to go and make it tough on myself by having knee surgery. I’m actually about a month ahead of schedule in terms of recovery, but I still have a long way to go before I can start running or cycling or really doing anything to keep my waistline from expanding. In shape for me would be running a 6 minute mile without difficulty and rediscovering my abs from underneath the flab.

That’s about it. I mean, I’m freaking perfect otherwise.
