Halloween is the time for my Great Pumpkin to rise

Last Saturday Marci and I went to her aunt’s house for a Halloween party and bonfire. I went as a Guy Who Was Beat Up By A New Orleans Cop and I convinced Marci to go as a New Orleans cop, which meant dress very sexy. She wore tall boots, fishnets, short-shorts, a cleavage-revealing shirt, and a faux police hat. She looked really hot, but it was a good thing she didn’t try on the outfit before the party because otherwise she wouldn’t have worn it. See, she’s not the type to “show off the goods,” if you know what I mean. Frankly, I don’t see why she’d have a problem. I mean, it’s a Halloween party, so you’re supposed to dress up. I see nothing wrong with an attractive woman dressing provocatively, but she normally doesn’t feel comfortable with it. Doesn’t like attracting attention to herself, which I think is sort of silly. Well, she got lots of attention that night because apparently the men at the party were lusting over her. Makes me smile because I get to sleep with her.

Anyway, my costume was easy. I wore my sling from when I had shoulder surgery, my knee brace from when I hurt my knee in college, I wrapped gauze around my head, and wore some beads around my neck. When asked what I was dressed as, people laughed once I told them. Some people said things like “That’s horrible!” in that laughing sort of way, which was the whole point of picking this costume. I like to wear costumes that are topical and make people laugh. Or at least smile. I don’t see any point in dressing up like a vampire or a ghost or some other boring costume. I actually came up with this costume idea while sitting in the U2 concert. That’s how bored I was.

Marci’s aunt’s house is in Maryland, so she offered us a room to stay for the night. We stayed, made some good use of the four-poster bed, got up the next morning (the room was still spinning for me, which meant I had a lot to drink), had a good breakfast, and came back to VA, where we were too out of it to do anything else for the rest of the day. Lazy Sunday indeed. Of course, we couldn’t watch the Eagles game because of the stupid Redskins. I hate the broadcast rules for the NFL.
