Stewie Griffin - The Untold Story
September 29th, 2005 by matt
I watched the Family Guy movie last night. It was pretty good, although not quite what I thought it would be. See, it was billed as the explanation as to why Stewie has given up his plans for world domination. If you didn’t notice, in the new episodes of Family Guy, Stewie hasn’t had any schemes like he did in earlier seasons. This movie was supposed to explain what happened to change his mind. Well, it didn’t really do that. But I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to spoil anything for those who haven’t seen it.
However, it was mostly funny. There are several moments that are absurdly funny, and several stretches where nothing much happens. Supposedly the movie was written in three parts by three different writers, but I really didn’t notice a dramatic transition from one part to the next. It seemed like a fairly coherent storyline.
Overall I give it a B+. It’s not as good as the best Family Guy episodes (like the one where Peter finds out he’s technically retarded), but it has some big laughs and is definitely worth buying if you’re a Family Guy fan.
Family Guy Volume 3 comes out in November!
