Shoulder, shoulder, fairest of them all

August 18th, 2005 by matt

I just realized that I never updated anyone on the status of my shoulder. Well, it’s all better. End of update.

Seriously, I was kicked out of physical therapy in early July. I wasn’t feeling any pain in the shoulder except for the slightest of twinges every now and then, so Tara, my physical therapist, declared me fixed and sent me on my way. Since then, all traces of pain have disappeared and the shoulder feels as good as new. The amazing thing is I was supposed to be in PT until late August, but I finished almost a month and a half ahead of schedule. At least the healing powers of my body don’t procrastinate. I guess a tiny part of me doesn’t.

So I’m cleared to do pretty much anything, although I haven’t resumed lifting weights yet. I think I’ll give that a few more months, just to be on the safe side. Plus, see the procrastination remark above.

So yay, I’m happy I can play volleyball and softball and such things without worrying in the back of my mind about damaging the shoulder again. I suppose that’s always possible, but I’m due to have another knee injury now. After that, then it’ll be time for the other shoulder.

Oh, and remember way back when I said I’d scan the pictures of my shoulder? Well, I finally got around to hooking up my scanner, so here you go.
