I'm hot for ya baby, I'm a pickled beet

There is something about the voice of Brak that makes me smile, no matter what trivial thing is being said. That voice is such a comedic masterpiece.

Had my first post-surgery physical therapy appointment today. The therapy plan my doctor laid out is very cautious and slow, because if the suture pulls out of the bone, the surgery was all for naught and we’d be back to square one, so I basically do nothing at physical therapy until week 6. Tara, my therapist, is allowed to move my arm for me in certain motions, and I have e-stim (electrodes hooked up to the skin to cause the muscles to contract) and ice, but that’s about it for weeks. I’m not allowed to throw or move in any above-the-head movements until week 16. If everything goes well, I’ll be done by week 24. That’s six freaking months. That’s August. That means I’ll miss out on pretty much all summer sports. That makes me less than happy.

After PT, I went over to Tower Records to listen to the new CDs in the listening stations (they change them on the 15th of every month). I picked up three CDs from there (The Exies Head For The Door, The Golden Republic (self-titled), and Miggs Insomnia. As I was heading to the register, I saw The Best Of INXS for $7.99, so I had to get that one too. Then I went to Best Buy and got Blue Merle Burning In The Sun (Michelle, I think you would really like them). Yeah, I’ve got just a bit of new music to listen to. You’ll probably be subjugated to a music post in the near future. I also picked up Muse Absolution last week, which is pretty good. If you like Radiohead, you’ll like Muse. At least, you’ll like that album. I haven’t listened to anything else by Muse, so I can’t speak for the rest of their catalog.

It’s funny; Muse opened up for Foo Fighters/Red Hot Chili Peppers when I saw them in 2000 in State College and I thought they were awful. Maybe they had an off-night, maybe they got better, maybe my tastes have changed, but it’s interesting how things like that happen. I guess the lesson is to never write-off a band forever.

Unless it’s country music.
