The Zutons - Who Killed The Zutons?

This album is so eclectic, I love it! It reminds me very much of The Coral, another fun, eclectic band. First, if you’ve seen the Levi’s commercial where the woman is chased down by a dog, the dog steals the jeans she is wearing and returns them to his owner, you’ve heard The Zutons (the music played during the commercial [Aoh, oh oh. Aoh, oh oh. Pressure pressure pressure pressure] is the second track, “Pressure Point”). They seems to pull in very disparate influences to build music that doesn’t sound like anyone else (besides The Coral). Fantastic fun, give a listen on iTunes.
Standout tracks: Pressure Point, You Will You Won’t, Long Time Coming
Denver Harbor - Scenic

I normally don’t like three chord punk music (Green Day excluded), but for some reason I like Denver Harbor. Much of the album appears to be the typical punk/pop music that we’ve heard for the past decade, but there’s something extra that sets it apart. The album is a tight, quick listen and pretty good.
Standout tracks: Outta My Head, The Ride
Breaking Benjamin - We Are Not Alone

Similar to Denver Harbor, I don’t normally like the faux death metal bands (like Papa Roach, et al), but there is something about Breaking Benjamin that seems to rise above the throes of “nu-metal” bands. Again, I can’t quite put my finger on it, but there is something that allows this band to be listenable when a similar Papa Roach-esque band would cause me to change the station, pronto. Maybe I’m just in a good mood because it’s the Christmas season.
Standout tracks: Follow, Break My Fall
