You kill yourself for recognition

So I’m supposed to be helping my sister move right now, but yesterday I started coming down with something and I decided it would be best to not make a long drive while beginning to get sick. I’m getting really dizzy every time I stand up, which would not be conducive to moving stuff. Plus, I couldn’t actually help carry anything heavy because of my shoulder. So I’m at home, watching DVDs (working on Futurama Volume 4 right now).
Anyway, The Presidents show was great! They played the following songs, not in this order:
Kitty
Lump
Stranger
Boll Weevil
Peaches
Dune Buggy
We Are Not Going To Make It
Kick Out The Jams
Body
Back Porch
Candy
Naked And Famous
From their second album:
Tiki God
From their third album:
Video Killed The Radio Star
Japan
From their fifth album:
Love Everyone
Some Postman
Zero Friction
Poke And Destroy
Munky River
Drool At You
Shreds Of Boa
As you can see, the majority of the songs came from their first album. They played every song off that album except “Feather Pluckin’.” I was actually kind of disappointed with that, because there are a lot of good songs from other albums they didn’t play. And they played nothing from their fourth album! What’s up with that? Anyway, I wanted to hear these songs:
Volcano
Man (Opposable Thumb)
Cleveland Rocks
Bath Of Fire
Tiny Explosions
Nuthin But Luv
Tiger Bomb
I’m Mad
Headin Out
“Headin Out” would have been a great way to end the show. They played for 1.5 hours, which was great. Just enough time to run to the metro station and catch the last train for the night.
They also did bits of other songs in between (and sometimes during) their songs. They did a bit of Anarchy in the UK and Chris Bellew sounded very much like Johnny Rotten. A mash pit actually broke out during that song, and I was right in the middle of it. I hate that, because I’m way to old to mash (plus I had my glasses on). I kept backing up to the edge of the circle, but the circle kept expanding. Good thing the pit only lasted for the two minutes they were singing that song.
I’ve got some pictures from the show that I will attempt to post later if my head clears up a bit. Overall, this was the third best show I’ve been to, after Radiohead and The Smashing Pumpkins. Oh, a band called Washington Social Club opened for them. They were your typical punk band, hard to understand what the lyrics were and lots of screaming. I never heard of them, but apparently they just finished doing the Warped Tour (on the second stage, I assume) so I guess they do have some type of following. They weren’t bad at all, just your basic punk band, which is a style of music I generally don’t get into.
