The Orioles game on Thursday was much better than the first game I saw. I attribute this to the fact that there were no Red Sox fans there. The night was warm, the cicadas were not yet hatched in biblical proportions, and no fans were tossed from the game. My seats were next to third base again, so it was a nice view. Almost got a foul ball, too (landed about five rows behind me). I have to say, the Orioles have a pretty good team this year. They beat the Devil Rays, who themselves are a much improved team. I’m going to see another game this Wednesday, this time against the Mariners. As long as it doesn’t rain, I think that will be another good game, since there will be no Red Sox fans in attendance.
The bad thing about the game is that I had to drive yet again. I was planning on taking the train, but it didn’t run after the game, contrary to signs at Camden Yards and their website. There is supposed to be a train that runs one hour after the last pitch, to give people enough time to get out of the stadium (and to sober up). I’m guessing it’s not running yet because it’s too early in the season. Perhaps they wait until school lets out, since then there would be more people who would want to use the service. I doubt it will be running this Wednesday either, but I’ll call just to make sure. I also won tickets to go see the Orioles play the Angels on May 14. Yay free tickets!
My eMac came yesterday! I didn’t even know FedEx delivered on Saturday, but apparently they do. I spent several hours updating the system software (it was running Jaguar but came with Panther CDs) and then downloading updates and patches. After all that was complete, I played around with the programs that were new to me. I never used GarageBand before, and man is that program addicting! I already made four songs, none any good I’m sure, and I’m thinking I’m going to make enough for a 10 track CD and burn it, thus subjecting people to my music whenever they are in my car. MUHAHAHAHAHAHA!
There is an ice cream truck that drives through the apartment complex, complete with hypnotic ice cream truck music that beckons for children to come and partake of its guilty pleasures. I hadn’t seen an ice cream truck since I was living in Catasaqua, and that was probably around first grade (however old you are at that grade level). It was kind of neat to see that they still exist, as long as Sweet Tooth isn’t driving it.
